Market Recap
January has been a strong month in the market, driven by key earnings releases amid lingering uncertainty around geopolitical tension and potential US government shutdown. Despite Gold and silver being in the spotlight as safe-haven assets, it made a pullpack at the end of the month. Meanwhile, the broader crypto market has pulled back following Coinbase’s withdrawal of support for the CLARITY Act, a move that stalled progress on US crypto market structure reform and contributed to a shift away from risk-on assets.

Consensus: We’ll Be There
One of the world’s largest and most influential blockchain events returns to Hong Kong: Consensus Hong Kong 2026 (February 10–12). We’re expecting an impressive lineup of speakers from leading organizations including Binance (Richard Teng), Solana Foundation (Lily Liu), Grayscale, J.P. Morgan, TRON (Justin Sun), and many more. Key topics will span institutional adoption, DeFi, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, robotics, and the exciting intersection of AI agents and on-chain execution, plus endless side events to spark new connections and turn ideas into real projects.

One of our supported projects, GMAsia AI-powered events beta has been live since Q4, with upgraded features and smoother UX to help the community discover the best side events during major Asia conferences.

What’s next for February
The first month of 2026 has just flown by and we have an amazing month ahead planned. Apart from Consensus, GMAsia updates and the HacktheEast Hackathon, which are all incredibly exciting on their own. You can expect more community activities just in time for Lunar New Year.
